5 of the Best Collector Car Events in Canada

The world of classic and collector cars in Canada is made up of more organizations, shows, auctions, and swap meets than you could shake a wrench at. With such a thriving community, it’s only right that these events get the recognition they deserve. Here are 5 great examples.

Spring Thaw

The Nifty Fifty Ford Club of Calgary is a not-for-profit association operated by devotees of classic Ford vehicles from 1949 to 1959. Their annual Spring Thaw Show & Shine, however, is host to just about any classic make and model you could hope for. Held in April of every year, it’s bigger than any other single-day show in Calgary, making it perfect for kicking off the cruising season. The 2019 date has yet to be determined, but will probably appear on their official site.

British Columbia Custom & Classic Car Show

Now in its 23rd year, this is the longest running indoor car show in BC, and one of the largest speciality car shows in Canada. Hosting everything from muscle cars to rods and beyond, it’s held at the Tradex Convention Centre in Abbotsford over one weekend every April, with this year’s edition taking place from the 12th to the 14th. Super Run

First held by Saskatchewan resident Bob Gunn in 1990, Super Run is attended by speciality vehicle enthusiasts from across Western Canada. It hosts an eclectic mix of classic and vintage cars, motorcycles, campers, and even snowmobiles. Having taken place in many cities over the years, the latest will be held in Brandon, MB this August. Fleetwood Country Cruize-In

If you’re willing to travel a bit further or plan on being in Eastern Canada this summer, consider the Fleetwood Country Cruize-In of London, ON. This 110-acre event is no small affair, with countless classic and custom cars gathered on an impressive private estate and accompanied by a variety of bands, vendors, and food. This year’s will be held from May 31st to June 2nd.

Canadian International Auto Show

Toronto’s Canadian International Auto Show is the largest auto show in Canada, bringing in attendees from around the world and featuring a stunning range of vehicles, from classic and collector cars to modern and high-performance powerhouses. The latest edition has already passed, but it’s well worth planning a trip for the next if you’re a serious hobbyist or collector.
